Horseback riding is one the best ways to enjoy the idyllic scenery surrounding Bristlecone Lodge and will give you the chance to get to some of the more remote locations. It also gives you a unique perspective of the regions stunning views, while your new found friend does most of the walking for you!

Our location in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains offers easy access to a number of the spectacular horseback riding trails around Woodland Park, CO. These provide a wonderful opportunity for you to take in the adventure and beauty of the surrounding forest and clear mountain air, while relaxing in the care of a friendly local guide.

For both the beginner and the experienced rider there are a variety of different trail options. These range from going up into the mountains to take in the panoramic views, to following along some of the local rivers and enjoying their tranquility and beauty.

If horseback riding is new to you, there are a number of nearby stables that offer lessons where you can learn the art of this wonderful hobby. Under their expert guidance, you will quickly learn all of the necessary skills to get you up on a horse and out on one of the guided tours of the region.

Our local partners offer a wide selection of different riding adventures including ones especially designed for children and teens. They will also provide everything you need including the correct riding attire to make sure you are comfortable and provide refreshments for along the way.

All of the day long rides include a time to stop for lunch in an area surrounded by natural beauty. Throughout the ride there are also plenty of other opportunities to take a break from the saddle. These give you the chance to explore a little on foot so you can take an even closer look at the stunning surroundings.

In addition, many of the rides take in some of the regions breathtaking waterfalls while others will take you high up into the mountains. The options are endless. All you really need to do is decide how much time you have to spare, and how adventurous you are feeling.
